Beyond Combat: Engaging Minigames and the World of Demayth!

Hey Demayth Community,

While the epic combat and grand narratives of Demayth are at our core, I've been spending a lot of time on a new, exciting area of game design: downtime activities and minigames!

I believe that the best TTRPGs don't just happen during combat; they also happen in those moments of travel, preparation, and survival. So, I've been creating a variety of fun ways to keep players engaged and give their characters more to do between major plot points.

This has led to the development of dedicated minigames for dungeon crawling and traveling! These are designed to promote more teamwork, encourage creative role-playing, and combine different aspects of the TTRPG experience into a single, cohesive activity.

But these minigames do more than just engage—they also introduce new layers of challenge and immersion. When you venture outside of a city or safe haven, your characters will now need to contend with new Hunger, Thirst, and Sanity attributes. These are not things you need to worry about in the safety of a town, but they become a vital part of your survival when you're facing the high stress and physical demands of the world.

These new elements are all about making the journey just as important as the destination, and I'm having a blast seeing how they add to the depth of our games.

What kind of downtime activities or minigames would you love to see in Demayth? Let me know in the comments!
