The Bedrock of Power: Laws, Wealth, and the Eternal City

As a Demigod, it’s easy to focus on the raw power within, but your strength is tightly bound to the world you defend. Today, we’re looking at the fundamental structures that govern the Everlands, from mortal law to eternal cities.

1. On the Laws of Mortals

Do not underestimate mortal laws! They are the long shadow of the Elder Edicts that bind the gods themselves. Mortals universally condemn major crimes (murder, theft, treason) and are deeply wary of magic. They grant Demigods the right to duel, but these regulations—prohibiting the dueling of mortals or summoning fiends—are their attempt to contain the fires we ignite. A wise Demigod respects these boundaries.

2. The Currencies of True Wealth

For all other matters, there is trade. While mortals rely on the genius of Geni (mithril-fiber notes) and Ceni (gold/palladium alloy coins)—creations resistant to magical duplication—we deal in deeper currencies:

  • Demayth Shards: Crystallized fragments of raw Demayth energy, used to permanently augment abilities.

  • Divine Coins: Legendary, indestructible coins forged by Duryin himself, used for transactions between Exalted Ones and the Elder Divine—a physical piece of a god's favor.

3. The Eternal City (A Perfect Prison?)

When Demigods build cities, they build monuments to eternity. These metropolises are not made of simple stone, but of Titan's Steel and Mythril, protected by layered, titan-sized magical barriers that block all forms of magical and physical intrusion.

The secret to their perfection is the Runic Sustenance, a network of enchantments woven into the foundations, powered by a harnessed Demayth Nexus. This network provides:

  • Nourishment: Purified food and water (eliminating famine).

  • Health: Passive Restoration to heal minor wounds.

  • Waking: Grants the full restorative benefits of an eight-hour rest in as little as one hour.

  • Clarity: A subtle Psyche aura that suppresses mental fatigue and disorder.

This system creates a population of tireless, healthy, and stable citizens—a foundation for a perfect utopia, but one that is utterly dependent on the magic of its ruler for their very existence.
